We're finishing out the year with some beautiful Gotland fleece before we wrap up this wool run and transitioning into alpaca to kick off the new year! We have started to see an increase in the amount of Gotland fleeces we've been processing recently. It can be tricky if the fleece isn't just right, but when it is, it makes one of the most beautiful heathered grey yarns! Gotlands are to have dense, long, lustrous grey fleece, occasionally black or white. Clearly defined even curl and staple, and are typically soft to the touch on the animal.
Merry Christmas from our Family!
We wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone! We hope that all of the family's who supported our tree farm this year have had joy and love brought into their homes this Christmas season while surrounding their beautiful trees! Thank you to all who helped support our family business during this challenging year and we look forward to the year to come! Merry Christmas from our family to yours!!!
Sleeping on the Job...
We've been working so hard on fiber orders in our fiber mill, that one of our workers fell asleep on the job!
Christmas Tree's and Pups...
Barberpole Angora Yarn....
While its snowing buckets outside, we are inside the warm mill creating this beautiful, cozy Angora yarn! It showcases 3 different varieties of the angora rabbit breed and I am sure will look stunning all knit up, especially once it begins to halo! Hopefully it's owner likes it as much as we do!
Clean in, Clean Out...
When fiber comes into the mill meticulously clean, it leaves meticulously clean! #Allagashthesheep
We finally have an Online Store!
Many have asked, so we decided it was finally time! We have decided to launch an online store where you can shop all things Blue Mountain! It is a work in progress and we will be adding products regularly, but we thought this would be a good start! We have perfect stocking stuffers for this holiday season, but it will also be available year round to help bring our family farm to you! Happy Shopping!
Tis the Season for Giving!
When we decided to close the Christmas Tree Farm for the rest of this season, we only had 8 little precut trees left. We were contacted by The Synergy Project... a program in our area that provides assistance and housing for homeless and runaway youth! They were searching for tree donations to help fill the homes of these youth and provide them with the warm Christmas spirit they might not otherwise experience! We agreed that this would be the perfect place for our 8 little trees to go and be enjoyed! They were so thankful and we are happy they will spread some happiness this season!
We wanted to announce that we are officially closing the Christmas Tree Farm for the 2020 season! We have made this decision as a way to preserve the rest of our trees for the seasons to come! We want to thank all of our wonderful customers for the exciting few weeks that we have shared together and we look forward to sharing our ideas for next year in the next few months! We really lucked out this year with beautiful weather, an awesome hard working crew, and so many amazing customers who shared a part of their Christmas traditions with our family this year! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our family farm and we look forward to seeing you next year! We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
