It seems as though yesterday was the day we have been most looking forward to, yet most nervous about at the same time! We have been counting down the days until we could see our equipment sitting in our new building, but there were also many things that could have happened to create a devastating ending knowing how heavy all of the machines are. Our prayers were answered, no one was hurt, all the equipment was placed safely, all with the help of some friends Roger and Rod (despite a little rain here and there). After unloading the carding and spinning machines, our crew wanted their coffee break. I'd say we took care of our workers, even serving homemade sticky buns fresh out of the oven!

Well it is finally here...the delivery for the second building arrived today!! We have never seen such a wide load coming up our driveway but the driver was excellent and the building is safe! The assembly and finishing with be done next week and then its time to move in the equipment!
We are having such a lovely time here at Stonehedge Fiber Mill! We spent a majority of the time working around the mill, but we also took some time to visit the critters and look around the town. Yesterday we spent washing, picking, carding and spinning. Today we played with pin drafting, making different weight yarns, and Ashley made her first bobbin of worsted weight merino yarn. Its been an exciting week so far! Mom and I on our way to Stonehedge Fiber Mill in Michigan! I'm so excited to spend the next few days there talking, learning tips, and having fun along the way!
Today was, as most days have been at Blue Mountain Farms lately, busy as the flooring for the rabbitry was poured! We are thrilled to see the progress of the buildings with excitement building each day that goes by. When the concrete truck arrived, we weren't sure if he would be able to fit into the space where the building is, but after a very tight squeeze, we were ready to go! Pictured below is the space between our back deck and the tires of the concrete truck! Tyler was happy to be spending the day playing in the "mud!" From the truck to the finished product! Now all we had to do was hope that none of the animals found the new floor until it had a chance to dry... With everything going on and the floor finished, we had a chance to step away for a little while last night and join Ashley at Delaware Valley College for her induction into Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honors Society!
