Shipping tips...

12/16/2019

At our fiber mill, we often are asked questions about shipping fiber to the mill and what are the best ways to do that! We have several suggestions to help make shipping easier and more cost effective for you!
First, always make sure to provide a processing order form with your fiber! The main reason is so we aren't playing a game of "whos fiber is it anyway" searching for a miscellaneous owner for a box of fiber with no contact information or return address. Even if you aren't sure how you'd like your fiber processed, at least include your contact information along with a note for us to call with our best suggestions on processing... We're happy to work with you after evaluating your fiber.
Second, don't be afraid to squish your fiber nice and tight! Its silly to ship us air. Sending larger boxes than what your fiber needs creates higher shipping charges for you. Squeeze it, compact it, vacuum seal it. Whatever you have to do or whichever method you prefer... The smaller the box, the friendlier your shipping rates will be. We get deliveries generally from USPS, UPS, and FedEx. We ship back to you at the lowest rate possible for us.
Third, if you want to have fleeces blended during processing, it is best to mark that on your form, however keep them in separate bags until we have a chance to look at them. Sometimes fleeces aren't the most compatible with each other simply due to length, VM, stress breaks, and more. With that, our suggestion it to let us know what you would like, we will evaluate it when it comes into the mill, and offer our best suggestions to get you back the final product you want to achieve!
We hope this helps with any questions anyone might have on shipping, but as always, feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions on processing or what we can offer!
