I think it's only appropriate to have our number one pup on the job when we are making a batch of Samoyed dog yarn!

Spent the last two days at JC Hills Tree Farm for the PA Christmas Tree Growers Conference! It was a beautiful farm, with learning opportunities, and networking! Looking forward to continuing to grow and improve our Christmas Tree farm over the next few years! It is going to be an interesting year with the national tree shortage, so please hang in there with all your local growers and continue supporting the live tree growers! Garden harvest from last evening! Also... some exciting news! We officially have honey from our bees!! This has been a long time in the making, but they say practice makes perfect right! Haha! If you're interested in supporting local and giving it a try, send us a message! It will also be available on our website soon! In the meantime, we'll be over here indulging in some peaches with fresh honey... it's a thing these days! I was just trying to capture a neat picture of my brother, Tyler, and his farm equipment while he was making hay, but someone had the great idea of photo bombing my picture! Silly dog!
We process a lot of longwool fibers in our mill, but a beautiful, clean, strong, and long Leicester fleece is something to be excited about. The end result is stunning! Leicester Longwool is meant to be just that... long! It should have a longer staple length to a fleece to provide durability, giving your end product strength to stand the test of time. It also has a beautiful luster that makes its yarn just shine! It's not quite as soft up against the skin as some wool fibers, but that's the point. These sheep are raised to create strong, bold, and warm products! Unfortunately, there are not a lot of these beautiful animals and they are on the Livestock Conservation list. If you would like more information about this beautiful breed, make sure to visit the breed website:
