What's spinning in the mill today!? This batch of 90% Alpaca/10% Angora yarn! Its super, squishy soft!
Holy smokes... What an awesome day it was! Looking back to the day we started the Angorapalooza at the PA Farm Show to where it is now makes us so happy! The word is getting out there, people like to see the creation of these beautiful scarves, happy bidders are going home proudly displaying their new bunny accessories, and most importantly... The exhibitors all have a great time! The purpose of the event was to showcase the humane harvesting of angora fiber all while promoting yet another use of the rabbit commodity. This year, there were 6 teams total, along with a beginning team that demonstrated and answered questions to fair goers. From woodland, to spooky Hocus Pocus, patriotic pride, candy shops, country roads, colors of the wind and everything in between, there are always a wide array of fun themes that the teams come up with! We are so pleased with how the event turned out this year and we already have great ideas in the works on how to improve the event for next year! Hope you can make it out for a fun time at the next PA Farm Show! Or even better yet, join us with a team of your own! ...and the Twisted Sisters are off the loom! Now it's time for a potato donut break while the judges go over all the beautiful shawls! The Twisted Sisters are so pumped for Fleece to Shawl day! This is apparently what you do when you're at the Farm Show early and excited to make a beautiful shawl!
Results from the 4H National Poultry and Egg Conference were posted on the PA 4H Facebook page today! Madi competed and made a delicious turkey BBQ that we loved sampling whenever she would practice for this big event!
After the first day at Farm Show, we came home to meet our newest little fiber producer and member of Blue Mountain farms... We aren't "kidding!" 😉🐐
