Spring shearings have begun! This is the time of year when sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, bunnies, and all the rest of the fuzzy critters get a fresh haircut and start growing their fiber for the next shearing. That's where we come in! We skirt, wash, and process all of those fibers and turn them into a value added product such as yarn, rug yarns, rovings, and more for farmers and shepherds just like us! This was today's delivery. Humphrey loves helping our UPS guy because sometimes he's lucky enough to get a biscuit as a reward for his hard work!
Out with the old and in with the new!! With spring and the warmer weather quickly approaching, we've been working to prep our fields for the newest baby Christmas trees to be planted in the coming weeks! When we took over the tree farm, there were several overgrown fields, so with the help of the local fire department, we are having a controlled burn today to clean up the fields and begin prep for planting! It's a big task, but with a good team, it makes for shorter work! As always, we have our worker pup on the scene Tailgate lunches for the work crew make for some of the best lunches! A full work crew makes for a happy work crew!
Spring is in the air!! We just finished this beautiful Gotland yarn, which was a gray fleece that we over dyed to achieve this fresh lilac color! Just because your fleece might not be pure white, doesn't mean you cant achieve bright, rich colors!
Due to the wind storm we had last night, we are currently without power. We will be closed today until the power is restored. So, if you try to reach us today, we will get back to you as soon as possible. We have our best pup on the scene! Stay warm!
