Yesterday we took advantage of the surprisingly beautiful weather. They were calling for chances of rain all throughout the day yesterday, but we lucked out with gorgeous blue skies up until around 4. We worked to split some bee hives and plant in the gardens! Our bees have been very active with this warmer weather and we are soon planning on extracting more honey! We even had some cute helpers yesterday... Ivory was very proud of the hives!
Stay tuned over this summer for all the goodies we grow and create that will be available in our farm store over the coming months!
Little Comet has been enjoying his (or so he thinks) handmade blanket by Madi of Miss Madi Moos! That way he's well rested for a full days of helping in the fiber mill!
Happy early Mother's Day to our Mama!! After all the years of supporting/coaching sheep to shawl and Angorapalooza events, she's never had a competition scarf or shawl to call her own! So this year, we came together to plan and make one that was extra special. After Farm Show this year, Madi spun an entire bag of white angora fiber for the weft. Ben helped repair Madi's wheel when she had a break down from all that spinning. Matt helped to ply Madi's spun yarn. We spun an angora/merino blend of yarn in the mill for the warp which we also dyed purple (Madis favorite color) and blue (Ashleys favorite color). The weaving pattern we chose is one of her favorites! Today, we surprised her with it and tears of appreciation rolled down her face! We love you Mom!
