It was a fun weekend full of fuzzy bunnies and good friends! This weekend was the first big rabbit show we have gone to in about a year! It was the 2021 Angora National show! Matt ran around the show hall making sure the rabbits were on the tables and Ashley was asked to judge the Wool/Skein/Garment contest! We couldn't be more excited with how well our rabbits did on the tables! Our personal favorite is Jelly Jo, our Giant Angora Senior doe who earned Reserve in Show in the National Show! There were also so many stunning entries in the WSG competition. The Angora community has really been coming a long way over the years! There were so many beautiful rabbits and respectable breeders! Until next time Tennessee! Gasp... this fleece is so stunning! I dont want to put it through the machines! It's hard to grasp the true beauty of it though a picture
It's that time of year where these little "weeds" are popping up in yards all over Central Pennsylvania! Many people run to the lawn and garden store to buy weed killers and sprays, however, we like to pick them and make dandelion and violet jellies!! You can also make wine, syrup, or use the juice as a natural dye for yarns! Not to mention, busy pollinators, like honey bees, love them as well! We will have our new batch of jellies available on our website in the coming week! It's a beautiful day for planting! Today is one of the final preparation stages before the field is ready for the newest crop of baby trees. This is going to be our new Fraser Fir field. Tyler and Randy are planting a cover crop which will help for easier maintenance and less overall weeds, allowing more of the soils nutrients to go into the trees so they can grow to be strong and full!
Today we finished planting this years crop of Douglas Fir trees. This just so happened to be Ashley's favorite tree... the last one!
