Phew...busy weekend to start out the 101st PA State Farm Show! Friday was rabbit show day where Madi's rabbits received several Best of Breed and Best of Variety awards followed by the PA Preferred banquet that night where she and the rest of her royalty court represent the PA Rabbit Breeders Association! Saturday was opening ceremonies where Madi stood beside many of the PA Youth State Commodity Representatives as Governor Wolfe officially opened the show, rabbit showmanship, and meeting many new faces at our booth! Today was another fun day of Angora/spinning demos, celebrity rabbit hopping, and the rabbit meat pen auction! Looking forward to what the rest of the week has in store!

...And we are set up! Farm Show season is here!!
It's beginning to look a lot like farm show around our place. Every flat surface is covered with projects, product, and goodies. For anyone who doesn't know, we will be spending the next 9 days in Harrisburg at North America's largest indoor agricultural event. There you can see just about anything imaginable from the Agricultural Industry. We're blessed to live so close to this unique experience that we've been attending and participating in for the last 13 years. We honestly look forward to this event almost as much as many look forward to Christmas! This year, our mill will once again have a booth in the Main Hall booth #5172 near the smaller food court. If you plan on attending, stop by and visit us. We have a lot of new yarns and products we will be bringing this year. You'll also be able to see Dauphin County's 3 youth teams from our 4-H Fiber Club participating in the Fleece to Shawl which is held on Wednesday, January 11th. beginning at 10:00 a.m. The teams have created beautiful shawls for this year. For the second year, you can find us participating in the Angorapalooza which is held on Thursday, January 12th. beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Sale Arena. The scarves we will be making are gorgeous and will be auctioned off by our own auctioneer, Tyler, immediately following the event. Since we will be at the Farm Show all week, our shop will be closed beginning Saturday, January 7th through and including Saturday, January 14th. Save the Date for our next Maple Day -
Saturday, February 11th, from 9 - 3 join us for tours of our sugar shack during a live boil-down. Enjoy a movie presentation we put together of our maple season, and even join us for a pancake breakfast $7 / person. There will be additional weekends in February weather permitted. The 11th will be the only day for the breakfast. |
