Cherry Bushes
We are so excited to be offering Cherry Bushes this season!!
Our Cherry Bushes are varieties of white cherries that tend to be sweeter and lower in acidity than the common red fruited Nanking cherry variety. We have Jules & Ian cherry bushes. They are considered a multi-stemmed shrub and will grow to a mature height of 4 to 8 feet and spreading to 8 feet wide. The overall size can be maintain though with proper pruning, which we highly recommend doing to maintain the overall health of your bush and push nutrients into the fruit production. The white fruits are slightly larger than red fruited varieties.
The Ian and Jules Cherry bushes flower in early spring starting with deep pink in color buds that transition to a bright white flower when they reach full bloom. Once they are a mature size, they can yield around 8-12 lbs of fruits harvested along their stems. The Ian variety is more tolerant of drier conditions. They are not self pollinating plants, so we recommend at least two for proper cross pollination. They are suited for USDA zones 3-7.
