Did you know that Govenor Wolfe's administration partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture & the DCNR to proclaim tomorrow (Aug 20th) as Honey Bee Day in the state of PA! The value of the PA apairy industry is estimated at more than $76 million, most of which is based on increased yield and quality of crops that are partially or completely dependent on bees for pollination. Did you know that 1/3 of our food supply is the result of pollination from honey bees?! This is why it is increasingly important that we appreciate and take care of these fascinating creatures as well as preserving open spaces & farms that provide habitats for these pollinators. We are so happy to be just a very tiny part of the apairy industry and spent today doing hive inspections and honey extractions as a way to celebrate!!
