Due to the wind storm we had last night, we are currently without power. We will be closed today until the power is restored. So, if you try to reach us today, we will get back to you as soon as possible. We have our best pup on the scene! Stay warm!
Did our good deed of the day! We get regular package deliveries to the fiber mill. Yesterday's drop off was quite action packed. Our delivery guy took a wrong turn and ended up on our neighbor's road, which you can tell is a great toboggan run! After 30 minutes, 4 people, and a bag of salt, we got him out and on his way again with no issues! And the best news... all packages eventually arrived in the mill safe and sound!
We might have a big snow storm on the way with freezing temperatures outside, however, its starting to look a lot like spring inside the mill today!! We just finished this fun wool corespun bump this morning!!
With all this snow and cold weather, this was too funny not to share! Stay warm... spring is coming!!
This was a "challenge accepted" batch of yarn we just finished! It's 100% Babydoll sheep wool! Babydoll tends to be a pretty tricky fiber to spin with how short the staple length is and, not to mention, these little guys seem to be like velcro to vm! Probably because they are so little and just walk right under hay feeders or other critters enjoying the same snacks over top of them! This fleece was the exception to the rule. All the stars aligned and boom... we have a 3 ply babydoll wool yarn thanks to the hard work of our team!
We made some warm wool yarn this morning while Mother Nature thought it would be a good idea to snow buckets outside!
We might be in the dead of winter with a big storm expected next week, but that isn't stopping us from planning for this upcoming spring! We're looking forward to planting season for trees and produce! In the meantime, we still have limited canned items available on our online store. Swing by and check it out while supplies last!
Scrub a dub dub... wool fleeces in the "tub!" Lots of beautiful longwool fleeces are currently washed and on the nets drying. Once they finish drying, they will show off their beautiful luster/sheen and be ready for processing!
If your plan doesn't work, change your plan but never your goal! Today was one of those days. Our goal is to always provide a beautiful product to all of our customers. Today we planned to have fiber being processed in the mill, however, the equipment had other plans. Instead of being fiber processors today, we were equipment mechanics! Our day might not have gone as planned, but after putting a team of minds together, searching far and wide for parts that have become increasingly hard to find due to the pandemic, and a little bit of elbow grease, we are up and running again so we can continue creating beautiful products once again!
