Better late than never! Each year for Christmas, I (Ashley) always make a special afghan for someone, and this year was my sister's turn! She lost 2 very special animals to her this past summer... 1 was her older ram named Boo and the other was her clicker trained goat named Scooby! You might have met these critters if you've ever visited the yarn shop or the mill. With this being the case, my mom and I worked to use the fiber from Boo, Boo's son, her angora goat kids to make... the yarn for the blanket and rug yarn for the crochet rug! We hand dyed all of it and got to work! My mom crocheted the rug and I knit the afghan incorporating a goat into the blanket that looks just like Scooby! We put together a video, with the help of Matt Bishop, of her 4 legged friends and progress photos of our knitting/crocheting sweat shop from the past few months! She held it together until we explained who the fiber was from! Its so fulfilling knowing how much these handmade creations meant to her! Who will be next!?
